Guidelines for your work:
Criteria for the baby items and Chemo Caps:
- Preferably hand made
- Preferably new
- Washable
- Softer yarns (such as baby yarns) are more comfortable.
- Caron Simply Soft is a very soft yarn (and is 100% Acrylic and Machine Washable & Dryable).
- Most of the listed knit & crochet patterns work well with thinner, baby yarns.
- Wool is not preferred because some babies are allergic to animal fibers--plus wool yarns tend to be less soft.
- Any pattern can be used but check out the Patterns page.
- Cotton is great for summer hats and warmer climates as it is cooler than most other types of yarn.
- Most of our hat patterns work well with thinner, cotton yarns as well as with worsted weight yarns.
We encourage you to send us any patterns you would like to share. We can share them on our website.
Measurements For Babies
Blanket Measurements
- Small: 25" to 30" square
- Large: 30" to 38" square
- X-Large: 38" to 50" square
Hat Measurements
The following are some specific hat measurements in each size category. You will notice that we ask for the hat measurements to be 1.0"-1.5" smaller than the head circumference measurements for each size category. This is due to the fact that the hats will stretch.
